You’re not art

Recently I was hanging out with this guy. In all attempts to see where our “common interests” lay, I invited him to the Culver City Artwalk (photos to come). Not only was he SO late that I missed most of the daylight to take pictures but he kept touching all the paintings. Granted if you’ve never been to an art show/gallery, you wouldn’t really know this. But isn’t it pretty much common sense that if it isn’t yours (and is worth over $500) that you shouldn’t touch or play with it? It’s somewhat of an unspoken rule yes???

Among other things to test my patience, I walked over to a concrete slab standing against a wall and started snapping pictures. His comment….. “Don’t take pictures of that.. it’s ugly!! That’s not art. ”

I decided from that point on that this wasn’t going to work out.

NOT ART?? I’m sorry, but the realization of what is/isn’t art lies in each individual. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. You, sir.. are NOT my treasure.
